The film emphasizes how clothing has transformed from consumption of essential items of clothing designed to last, to the purchase of multiple garments, bought cheaply and replaced frequently. Furthermore, the fashion industry has begun to mimic the food industry, where fashion goods are now being marketed as perishable goods.
The film suggests that the effects of Fast Fashion is a response to the overwhelming demand by customers for fashionable clothing at low prices.

A documentary about one of fashion's most influential icons, Iris Apfel from one of the most legendary documentary filmmakers, Albert Maysles.
The film is characterized by non- other than her flamboyant outfits and quick-witty banter. Although she looks like nothing more than a fashion maven, throughout the film we see how her middle-class upbringing, values and work ethic upbringing made her the women she is today.
