THE NEXT BLACK



The Next Black is a documentary about the future of fashion and the innovative solutions being created to make the fashion industry more sustainable.

The film emphasizes how clothing has transformed from consumption of essential items of clothing designed to last, to the purchase of multiple garments, bought cheaply and replaced frequently. Furthermore, the fashion industry has begun to mimic the food industry, where fashion goods are now being marketed as perishable goods.

The film suggests that the effects of Fast Fashion is a response to the overwhelming demand by customers for fashionable clothing at low prices.

IRIS



A documentary about one of fashion's most influential icons, Iris Apfel from one of the most legendary documentary filmmakers, Albert Maysles. 

The film is characterized by non- other than her flamboyant outfits and quick-witty banter. This is more than just a fashion film, it is a story about creativity and how, regardless of age, one can continue to be a soaring free spirit. Although she looks like nothing more than a fashion maven, throughout the film we see how her middle-class upbringing, values and work ethic upbringing made her the women she is today.

Fresh Dressed

Fresh Dressed chronicles the history of Hip-Hop and B-boying. The film emphasizes urban fashion and the rise from southern cotton plantation camps to the South Bronx gangs of the 1970's, to corporate America and everywhere in-between. 

The documentary is directed by Sacha Jenkins and supported by in-depth interviews by individuals critical to the evolution of a way of life - an urban lifestyle. The cast includes Damon Dash, Daymond John, Nas, Pharrell Williams, and Kanye West.

Dior and I


A sneak peak into the workings of the Christian Dior fashion house and behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Raf Simons' first haute couture collection as a true artisan. The film is a colourful homage to the seamstresses who serve to create Simons' vision. This film has been noted as one of the best fashion films of all time.
